THE OWNER OF PALSGAARD ESTATE

The Schou Foundation

Palsgaard Gods A/S is owned by the Schou Foundation, which was established in 1957 by Herbert and Gudrun Schou. Herbert Schou was the son of Einar Viggo Schou , who in 1919 founded the emulsifier company Emulsion A/S (now Palsgaard A/S) and which he managed alongside Palsgaard Estate.

After Einar's death in 1925, Herbert inherited both the estate and the rapidly growing company. Like his father, Herbert was socially responsible, and in 1957 he transferred all assets, including forests, farmland, buildings and the emulsifier business, to the Schou Foundation to ensure that they would continue to be run in the spirit of the Schou family.
