SCULPTURES IN PALSGAARD MANOR PARK

Petopentia Natalensis

Artist: Martin E. Andersen

The sculpture is titled Petopentia Natalensis, named after the plant, of which it is an enlarged version.

The plant is not native to the Danish nature, and the sculpture can therefore be perceived as foreign and exotic, explains Martin Erik Andersen.

"There is also something familiar about it, as it is made of bronze and has a botanical motif. The interplay between the foreign and the familiar is meant to move us and to help us process what we do not know", he says.
